WORKSHOP!!

The first workshop was a smash hit! We had low attendance but we got all of the information in. Everyone seemed to really enjoy the "alternatives" to blackboard or PowerPoint. links for the first workshop

So I will be posting links here that will pretain to the next workshop. This will be a little homework for those of you who are not familiar with the selected topics

First a popular online photo and video sharing program: FLICKR

A free blog authoring tool made by Yahoo: BLOGGER

A free bookmark organizational tool called: DELICIOUS

During the workshop we will go into great detail on the use of each one of these web 2.0 applications.

For those of you not familiar with web 2.0 or even what web 2.0 is or how the internet works this video may help. It was made by Michael Wesch Assistant Professor of Cultural Anthropology at Kansas State University

Faculty workshop times

Our first workshop is here.

It will be at 3:30 October 21 in lab 212

I will go over blogging, on-line photo sharing, bookmarking and blog subscription organization.

I hope to show how these topics will help teachers share information with their students, other faculty and the rest of the art community. I also will show how we can organize our digital information to make teaching easier and more streamlined. These techniques, when used properly will coincide with a digital lifestyle that most students can relate to and recognize.

There will be handouts but please bring something to write with. Thanks -Arthur
